Over the past 30 years, I discovered that while most salon owners are experts at hair styling, they don't always have a good grasp on the financials of running their businesses.

During the financial and economic challenges over that past 2 - 3 years, salons showed amazing endurance.  One client personally offered to his unemployed clients, a complimentary make over so when they were called for an interview they could look their best!
 
Many salons offered discounts on hair coloring services when they heard that clients were unable to come in as often. Discounts that affected their bottom line but they still did it.
